The Story Behind the Sting
A passion for blades, a commitment to craft, and a belief that a good knife should last a lifetime.
The Origin
How It Started
Yellow Jacket Knife Restoration started the way most good things do — out of necessity and obsession. After years of collecting and carrying knives, the founder grew tired of watching great blades go dull, rusty, and neglected. A good knife deserves better than a drawer.
What began as sharpening knives for friends and family quickly turned into a full restoration operation. Word spread. Boxes started arriving in the mail. Folders, fixed blades, kitchen knives, heirlooms — each one with a story, each one deserving a second life.
Today, Yellow Jacket handles everything from a quick edge touch-up to a complete top-to-bottom restoration. Every knife is treated with the same care and respect — whether it's a $30 Mora or a $500 custom piece.
Our Philosophy
What We Stand For
Precision Over Speed
We don't rush. Every edge is set by hand, every angle matched to the knife's intended purpose. Good work takes the time it takes.
Respect for the Blade
Every knife that comes through our shop gets treated like it matters — because it does. We handle heirlooms and workhorses with equal care.
Honest Work, Fair Prices
No hidden fees, no upsells you don't need. We assess each knife, give you a straight quote, and do exactly what we said we'd do.
Built to Last
We restore knives so they can be used, carried, and passed down — not just put back in a drawer. Our work is meant to hold up.
